It is only 'redrawing' in the sense the commissioner (me) had a hard time deciding and wasn't comfortable saying 'just draw something'. I chose a scene that isn't in the movie but makes me smile when I see it. I've literally had my grandkids sleeping on me like in that picture. My granddaughter is roughly Mei's age and grandson about the age of the other one.
If you compare with the original picture Beatrix did make it her own with at least some changes. Also, there are aspects of her work (e.g. overall coloring and the leaves) that I like better than the original. Anyway, just saying she did what I paid her to do. It is obviously fan art.
It makes me smile when I look at it.
